A Dream North Melbourne Meeting Spaces

The Third Day in North Melbourne is an extremely versatile space making it the perfect choice for any type of event. The venue has recently undergone renovations and can now play host to anything from product launches and corporate conferences to birthdays and weddings. The centre of the venue has an open roof giving the whole space an open-air warehouse feel. Despite this, The Third Day is still fully functional throughout the colder months with plenty of heating and cover.

Our Clients Include…

“The warehouse block is large, and the venue sprawling: think more open-air art bar than a cramped club, with space enough to expand themselves — and plans to do so soon. “Being in Melbourne is a bit like the Berlin way too,” says Rob. “You’ve got to seek out your parties. It might not look like much from outside, but inside it’s huge — people are saying they’ve never seen anything like it here.” Where can you find this summer paradise? Tucked up on Macaulay Road in North Melbourne, right next to Macaulay station, which means it’s only two stops from Southern Cross Station and three from Melbourne Central (depending on which way the blessed city loop is going of course).”- The Urban List

“These spunky brewsters have converted an old warehouse into a roofless café, bar and event space. You don’t think of the industrial part of North Melbourne as a honeypot for Melbourne’s bar scene, but the Third Day is delightfully proving us wrong. Located conveniently beside Macaulay Station on the Upfield line, this is quite the catch-all venue: an open-air café serving sandwiches, salads and freshly brewed coffee in the morning; a cavernous space to chill out on Friday nights with food trucks and beers on tap; and on weekends it transforms for various kinds of Christmas party venue Melbourne and events. Behind the bar, you’ll find a rotating selection of beer on tap, with Furphy as the house pour. Bartenders also serve up a range of house cocktails that change throughout the season. Given the open roof, this place thrives in summer.” – Time Out

“Normally a fire that burns out a warehouse doesn’t exactly spell good fortune, but for the creators of new events space The Third Day things turned out pretty well. Originally a costume warehouse in the 1920s, The Christmas party venue in Melbourne was struck by fire seven years ago and has laid dormant ever since — that is, until about a year ago, when The Third Day team took ownership and started work. “We’ve had the venue for a year, and feel like we’ve been sitting on it since then and nobody knows,” he says. “There’s a big social media roll-out happening now and we’re looking at lots of events too.” – Concrete Playground

EVER WONDER?

Have you ever wondered what it’s like to sink beers in the derelict remains of a 1920s warehouse? Well, wonder no more, because now you can.

The Third Day is North Melbourne’s hidden gem located on 290 Macaulay Road. Where some once saw nothing but a burnt out factory warehouse, we saw kegs of potential.

What you should look for when hiring a meeting space in North Melbourne?

Hiring a meeting space in North Melbourne can be challenging at the best of times and absolutely frustrating the next. Even when you know exactly what you need there can be moments when you forget to ask; or perhaps you didn’t know.

Here are our top seven venue hire questions you need to ask before making a booking:

What are the inclusions for the room?

Often what you see in the brochure is not included in the room you are specifically requesting to hire. Asking about or, even better, requesting to see the room and what it includes is a perfect start to your search and will eliminate anything that doesn’t meet your criteria

Are there parking spaces available for guests?

How people will get to your event is very important, and depending on the location it is imperative that suitable travel arrangements are made. Generally, if the venue is in the city, parking may be limited. This is something that you must know in order to inform your guests. Depending on your requirements, lack of parking may exclude some venues.

What is the room capacity?

A meeting space in North Melbourne may look large, but have a small occupancy, this is because occupancy is determined by exits and not overall size. Older large buildings may have the space but not the permits to accommodate larger gatherings. You should plan for an occupancy ten percent over your guest list, and pick a venue that suits.

When can the room be accessed for set up?

Some venues may have tight schedules and this may limit your ability to access the room and set it up to your requirements. Check the hire times of the specific venue, does it include ample time for the set up to be completed? If not, you may need to book the room for longer than the event will be held.

Not only set up! Remember to account for the cleanup time, or if cleanup is included in the meeting space in North Melbourne hire fee. If not you should schedule the hire for longer to accommodate this time.

What other events are being held at the venue?

Knowing what events are being held at the same time, may give some indication as to unintended  interference with your function. Consider, if you are holding your annual general meeting, you would not want a bucks party happening in the room next door! Use tact when asking this question as venues may not want to divulge information that can lead to you not booking.

What are the catering options are available?

If your function is having food and drinks, then you’ll need to know what catering options are available at the venue. Do they have a restaurant or a full service bar? Anything staffed by the venue will most likely cost more, to save money on your hire ask of the kitchen or bar is available for use without staff.

Are there security available at the venue?

Depending on your function, security may be an issue. If the venue does not provide security this may be an added cost to your event. However, some venues can offer security or have contacts with another provider for a discounted rate.

If you're looking for a unique, friendly service and fun vibe, this is the place! I photographed a 21st here recently and fell in l love with just how stunning this unique place is... A really chilled, funky vibed venue and just a great place to throw a birthday celebration or even just hang out with some mates. You can tell a lot about a venue when they treat not only their customers well, but the service staff too... Great place.. I will definitely be back...

Julie P ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This is THE best wind-down place on a Friday, also winds up again later on!, Dave, Mitch and the crew are always making sure that you feel like it's "your" place. The set-up is uber-cool, beer selection is great, wine on tap (grouse idea), and the food trucks are always different. The guys know their tunes, so the vibe is always buzzing. And the coffee in the morning is sensational. Perfect distance from the town crowd, and also to the station, for our more festive nights... Ticks all the boxes when it comes to a Friday night watering hole. Definitely recommend this place to anyone!

Michael B ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Honestly blown away the moment I walked into this space. By far my favourite bar in North Melbourne. I spoke with the owners and they also host events and meeting spaces too. If I had to pick my favourite thing about it, I'd say it would be the unique artwork all around the venue. The perfect place to go down to with a group of friends highly recommend!
